There is a big stone located in the lakeside of Danau Singkarak named Batu basurek. Local people associate this stone with the legend of Minangkabau. Unfortunately, Batu Basurek is already sunk into the lake today. There is a legend said that there is a batu bajanjang, or a stone staircase, connecting the lakeside to the center of the lake Singkarak and ends in the beach across the Jorong Sudut Sumpur.
